"Old fashion restaurant run by seniors (slow steady service). Noodles is fresh, chewy and bouncy. Vinegar flavored mee pok is unique & nice. Soup is homely flavored (not msg imo). Expect to wait 20-30 mins for orders to be filled"
"Is it good? Yeah. Is it worth the off-peak wait? Eh So how this works is as such — you queue for a table, then wait for the old lady to ask for your order. Even though i didn’t rush her (I just kept looking around to see if she had noticed me), she came over to scold me to “Wait” Even though I showed up in the late morning with no queue for a table, I still had to wait for 45 min before my order was taken (soup & kosong), and it took yet another 15 min before I was served. The noodles were incredible but the soup was really only alright, where the liver was definitely overcooked. Skip this unless you’re ready to lose 2 hours; I’m sure there are equivalents that are just as good"
"An old school hybrid kolo mee shop. If you are a first timer here like us, you will be confused with there sop. First you need to queue for a table. Once you are allocated a table, you have to wait for your order to be taken. Once your order is taken, your food will be served say about 10 minutes. From our queuing up to getting our noodles, it's about 45 minutes. So if you are rushing, this place is not for you. We ordered the pork soup with kolo mee and rice. The kolo mee is chewy with lots of fried shallots. The pork soup is blatant, I suspect there or no seasoning added. Perhaps, it's a healthier version. Regardless, the place is popular with the locals and worth a try if you have never been here. The Kopitiam is quite stuffy but not unbearable."
"Their kolo mee with black vinegar served with a bowl of mixed pork soup is still my favourite in Kuching after all these years. Sure, they may not taste exactly as they were 20 years ago. However, I still very much enjoy every single dish (and kopi ) here Waiting time varies, so only come here if you are not in a rush. Service has always been decently friendly, and organised. They have their own ordering system, so grab a seat when it's available, then sit and wait until they come to you to take both your drinks and food order. Ps if you're really hungry, grab a baked butter bun from next door's Ah Bee, while waiting"
"Our all-time favourite of noodles and pork soup. We have been a fan of this shop since years ago. Despite the long wait, the taste of noodles and soup is worth it. This shop is always packed with people, and the queue was long and systematic. No worry of anyone cutting queue. Once you're seated, just wait for the aunty to take your order. Might take a while. Patience is key. With that, watch your fav movie or just surf the net. I recommend to buy some traditional bun (sold nearby) while waiting. Usually, we wait 45 mins to 1 hour for food to come. Again, it's worth the wait. The noodle is a special kind. A vinegar noodle. None can compare to it. And of course, the pork soup with a generous amount of pork innards, three layer pork, mince pork, seaweed and salted vege in it. The taste was so authentic. The other thing that we love here is their ice lemon tea. It's refreshing, and the tea tastes so good."
"This shop is located in a very crowded place. Parking is quite a challenge. Coz you may need to park far a way. However if your hotel is in surrounding area that will not be a problem. It is within tourist area too. It has established since 1957. It’s a family business, they maintain their technique and way of preparing the noodles in a very special way. Most important it is to my liking. It’s like eating at home. Below here are my observation results and things that I like: - the noodle is cooked properly (very hot) so till the end of your meal, the noodle is still warm - the sauce is just right - the soup is to my liking: i don't like internal organs, so mine has only meats, sliced fish cake, fish ball and minced meat. You can have the soup with rice, bee hoon, mee pok or kwe tiaw. Their system is like this: - come and queue for empty table - when it’s your turn, the waitress will assigned you the table. - you wait the drinks waitress to take your drinks order - there will be another waitress who takes your noodle order - then you wait till the food is served. ^_^ it's not super fast but not super slow (depends on the crowdness). - you eat, after finish then you can pay directly to the cashier at the back or ask the cashier to come to your table. (better you go to the back coz it’ll be faster)"
"Nice set for breakfast, always packed. Note for those who want to dine there will be a long wait for seating and food if ur in rush in the least 1 hr."
"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Authentic Taste! Had breakfast at Noodle Descendants, Padungan — one of Kuching’s true local gems! The noodles were smooth, springy, and perfectly seasoned, topped with crispy fried shallots for that nostalgic homemade aroma. The soup was rich, flavorful, and packed with tender pork slices, fish balls, and seaweed, giving a comforting, well-balanced taste. Despite the queue, the service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere felt authentically local — simple, clean, and full of Kuching heritage."
